Cuzcurrita Castle was built in the second half of the 14th century on the orders of Mr. Juan Martínez de Rojas.
Since the second half of the 20th century, this building has undergone a number of alterations. The latest of these was in 1999, when it was taken over by a private family group, in which a thorough refurbishment of the property was carried out in order to restore its winemaking tradition.
The first vintage was produced in the year 2000 in the castle’s old winemaking facilities. It was in 2005 that the new winery was inaugurated, in a building adjacent to the castle and the vineyard, within the walled enclosure.
Our wines reflect the historical tradition of the castle and our winery has focussed all its efforts on combining tradition with the most modern techniques, using gravity and minimal intervention.
The facilities and the design of the layout of the bodega have been conceived with the maximum respect for the work in the vineyard always in mind, with minimal intervention and adapting to the particular characteristics of each vintage.
