Vintage sheet

2021

Cuzcurrita del RíO Tirón is located on the edge of the Rioja Alta district and was always traditionally renowned for making outstanding rosé wines.
This wine is made as a reminder of those very special wines.

Vintages produces: 2021.
Variety: Tempranillo from the “La Pradilla” vineyard plot.
Soil: From a sandstone origin, it is a poor calcareous clay soil, with spontaneous plant cover and well ventilated.
Viticulture: Traditionally pruned bush vines, 19 years’ old in “La Pradilla”.
Harvest: 20 October, placed in 20-kilo crates and selected on a sorting table.
Vinification: A rosé made by the traditional method of “bleeding”. Made in a totally natural way, with no addition of sulphur dioxide or any other kind of additive. Spontaneous fermentation with yeasts from the same vineyard. Only a small quantity of sulphur dioxide was added during the bottling process.
Ageing: It was fermented and spent 5 months in a three-year old, 500-litre capacity, French-oak vat called a “bocoy” or “boucaut”.
Bottling: End of April 2022 with no prior fining or stabilisation process.

tasting notes
An attractive salmon-pink colour and a complex, intense aroma with notes of ripe dark fruit, flowers and faint hints of spices recall the time in the wood. Good body, flavoursome and with marked freshness and a long, pleasant finish.
