The Bodega and the "enclosures" – walled vineyards around the castle – are located in the centre of the village of Cuzcurrita de río Tirón. The rest of the vineyards are near Cuzcurrita.

This is the westernmost part of the Rioja Alta and, consequently, is under the influence of the continental climate, with hot summers and very cold winters.

Cuzcurrita's severe weather conditions compared to other districts of La Rioja make grape growing more complicated, but on the other hand, are good for the typicity of its wines, achieving a greater expression of the terroir in which they are grown.

Moreover, it means that the differences between vintages are more marked than in those districts with a more benign climate. In this sense, the cultivation of the vineyards is carried out with maximum respect for the surroundings, so that the estate's wines show the maximum typicity, achieving the highest quality possible in function of the year's weather conditions.
