In 1999 newly constituted as a new company, the Castle entered a new period of revitalized winemaking activity. Since the vintage of the year 2000 the new Castillo de Cuzcurrita wine shave been produced, continuing the long tradition stretching back to the origins of the fortress.

Inside the castle walls there is a 7.5 hectare vineyard of vines over 40 years’ old, while the other plots within the village boundaries take the estate-owned vines to a total of 25 hectares.

The current wines, on the one hand seek to be faithful to the firm’s winemaking tradition, and on the other, display the high levels of quality and typicity that can be achieved with such unique vines. All this is in line with a modern, up-to-date style in which the oak ageing provides complexity without hiding the best features of the harvest from which the wines are made, and consequently, of the terroir.
