Blanca del Castillo is the first and only white wine that is made in the winery. It is a small production made 100% from Viura grapes from the “Vallimedio” vineyard situated on a hilltop at an altitude of 650 metres in the district furthest to the northwest of Cuzcurrita, almost on the border with the province of Burgos. The Viura vines from Vallimedio were planted over 90 years ago together with Tempranillo vines, a very common practice at that time. The planting pattern is 1.50 x1.50 metres, with a sandstone rock soil and a privileged position which allows good ventilation of the vineyard which provides very good phytosanitary conditions.

Blanca del Castillo undergoes ageing in used French oak casks of varying sizes over a number of months. Like the rest of the winery’s wines, it then spends a period of time rounding off in the bottle before release for sale.

A unique plot and a process which each year is adapted to the characteristics of the harvest is what allow us to make this intense white wine which once again shows the huge potential of our district to produce fine, fresh, elegant wines.
